On Sunday, Nov 22 at about 2:47am, FSU police officers in the area of Gay St. and Madison St. assisting the Tallahassee Police Department in searching for suspects of a home invasion that happened in the 600 block of St. Augustine St. During this time, FSU police discovered that two FSU students reported to TPD that they had been robbed in their car (both in same car) in the FSU owned gravel parking lot located at Gay St. at Madison St. The students reported that a male, armed with a pistol, opened the driver’s side door of the car they were in and demanded money. The occupants told the male they had no money and the male left. The male entered a car parked nearby and the suspect drove off. The victims also left and contacted a Tallahassee police officer. Neither FSU student was injured.

The suspect was described to police as a black male, wearing a white tshirt, and a black ski mask. He as armed with a small pistol. There is no other descriptive information known.

The FSU Police Department is actively investigating this case and will be working with the Tallahassee Police Department to identify and arrest the suspects. The FSU robbery is likely linked to the robbery being investigated by TPD. 1. When parking at night, do so in a lighted lot that is active with people. Criminals do not like witnesses about.

2. Tell someone where you are going and when you expect to return.

3. Always report suspicious persons or vehicles immediately to police.

4. If you are robbed, remember, things can be replaced. Do not risk your safety for possessions.

5. Avoid walking alone at night. A key factor criminals look for is people isolated from others.
